E-mail > Email disconnects
Unable to send mail

Due to spamming attempts, as of 6/17/11 we have shut down access to non-standard outbound mail servers, and have changed e-mail passwords on some customer accounts. If you are able to recieve mail, but cannot send mail, please read the following information in its entirety before calling technical support.

Our standard outbound mail server is mail.usfamily.net, however some e-mail software may be erroneously configured to use a non-standard server. These servers have been shut down, so you may need to change the outbound mail server in your e-mail software and have your e-mail password reset. The most commonly affected e-mail software is Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird since they configure smtp.usfamily.net as the outbound server by default. If you use e-mail software not listed below, please contact technical support immediately.

After completing the steps below, please call technical support to have your e-mail password reset. Even after changing the configuration of your e-mail software, you will not be able to send mail until your password is reset.
